Corn

Federal governments troughout the EU wishes to enact national laws to effect a complete ban on growing genetically modified maize.

The ban is due to the danger of modified gene sequences being transferred to conventional crops.

Countries, such as Germany, France, Austria, and the Netherlands have submitted applications to Brussels. Now it is up to the EU Commission to get in touch with agricultural companies who have applied for a cultivation permit for GMO (genetically modified organism) products.

These are of course suitable for all single feeds but they can also be used for your mixed feeds.

Our experienced CRM staff can help you in determining whether your products are subject to declaration in accordance with EU regulations.

GMO analysis in three steps

Of course it is also possible to conduct analyses with direct reference to individual events, where required. In general, a GMO analysis takes the following form:

  1. Screening
  2. Identification of existing events (in the case of varieties that have no EU approval, such as rice BT63 or flax CDC Triffid, one identification is sufficient, since zero tolerance applies in such cases).
  3. Quantification of existing events (quantification may be necessary for varieties that have EU approval, due to the obligation to declare).

Following positive screening, our customer advisers will contact you to discuss the next stage in the process.
