 It is therefore all the more pleasing that AGROLAB LUFA once again performed impressively in this interlaboratory proficiency test.

 

Although 75 per cent of the laboratories passed the latest QS Residue Monitoring interlaboratory test, the results were in many cases weaker than in previous years’ tests. The reason for this lay in the matrix chosen for spiking with the active substances to be determined: avocado. This fruit is very high in fat, which is why the usual sample preparation methods could lead to problems without additional measures.

 

A total of 93 laboratories from 17 countries took part in the proficiency test, of which 82 were already recognised by QS and nine others were seeking this recognition. Just over half correctly identified the added active ingredients, including 47 already recognised laboratories. When it came to correct quantification, the results among the laboratories varied even further.

 

AGROLAB LUFA in Kiel successfully passed the test for all eight analytes statistically evaluated, based on sub-sample ‘B’ sent to the laboratory.
The result thus confirms the laboratory’s analytical capability for the parameters statistically evaluated as part of this interlaboratory test.
