The shareholders of baking ingredients manufacturer Ruf are acquiring the bread baking group Mestemacher. However, the merger is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
The family-owned company Ruf, based in Quakenbrück, Lower Saxony, wants to acquire the large bakery Mestemacher in Gütersloh. No purchase price has been disclosed. Mestemacher will continue to operate as an independent company. While the takeover promises synergy potential for Ruf, the Dr. Oetker Group from Bielefeld acquired the long-established East German company Kathi in July. The employees at the Halle/Saale site will be retained.
