The AGROLAB GROUP is preparing to establish its own environmental laboratory in Switzerland. The aim is to support Swiss customers in future with local analytical capacity, shorter distances, faster processing and accredited Swiss methods.
AGROLAB expands its environmental analytics in Switzerland
The AGROLAB GROUP is currently working on the implementation of a new laboratory site in Switzerland, near Zurich Airport. With this planned laboratory construction, we intend to bring our environmental analytics services closer to our Swiss customers and address regional requirements more effectively.
The future site will cover core areas of environmental analytics, including analyses of soils, mineral solids, eluates, leachate, groundwater, surface water and wastewater, plus water sampling such as gauge water.
Planned analytics – modern methods for key environmental parameters
At the new site, a wide range of accredited environmental parameters will be offered in accordance with the applicable Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) guidance and recognised ISO/EPA standards. These include, among others:
- Mineral oil hydrocarbons
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)
- Volatile organic compounds (VOC) using Purge & Trap
- PFAS analysis
- Benzidine and derivatives
- Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB, dl‑PCB)
- Polychlorinated dibenzo‑p‑dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/PCDF)
- Pesticides and trace substances
- Semi‑volatile organic compounds (SVOC)
- Metals, ions, elemental analysis
This combination forms the analytical basis for numerous applications — from contaminated site and remediation projects to geotechnical investigations, industrial and infrastructure projects, recycling and disposal.
Integration into the AGROLAB GROUP
The planned Swiss facility will be fully integrated into the AGROLAB GROUP, providing access to the entire European laboratory offering. For questions beyond the local portfolio, specialised sites within the AGROLAB network will be available.
This creates a combination of local proximity, short routes and the full analytical capabilities of a European laboratory network.
Next steps
Planning for the new Swiss site is already underway. Further information — including the exact location, scope of services and the time of commissioning — will be announced in the coming weeks.
One thing is certain: with this step, the AGROLAB GROUP is significantly expanding its commitment in Switzerland and laying the foundation for the long‑term development of environmental analytics in the Swiss market.
