Cherries on tree

The French government issued an import ban on fresh cherries on 25.3.2023. We reported on this in the previous issue of AGROLAB RADAR (April 2023). The decision has now been amended.

The French government has now announced that the import ban on cherries from countries where the active ingredient phosmet is used will only be in place until the EU Commission has lowered the maximum residue limit in a new regulation.

The corresponding EU project is expected to be completed in May, so that the new limits will then probably apply from mid-August.

The French government also points out that cherries from organic cultivation are exempt from the import ban.

YOUR PLUS: Not only residues of the active ingredient phosmet are reliably detected and quantitatively determined in our residue monitoring packages. The evaluation of the results is carried out in accordance with European specifications and, on request, also in accordance with further national, association or customer-specific specifications.
