AGROLAB LUFA passed the latest European proficiency test for acrylamide in cereal based infant food (dry grain pap mixture) with excellence.

The EU Reference Laboratory for Processing Contaminants published the preliminary report on its proficiency test organised in spring 2022 (EURL-PC PT-2022-09). Among the 40 European laboratories who took part a pleasing 90% passed the test with acceptable results, only one lab delivered a questionable and another 3 labs delivered unsatisfying reports. Among the participating laboratories the majority were national reference labs and only two commercial labs, among them AGROLAB LUFA with an excellent z-score.

Acrylamide is a substance that is produced naturally in foods as a result of high-temperature cooking (e.g. baking, grilling, frying). It potentially increases the risk of developing cancer for consumers in all age groups. It is therefore of major importance for the protection of public health that mitigation measures are applied to reduce the levels of acrylamide in food as low as reasonably achievable.

YOUR PLUS: AGROLAB was among the first private labs having developed and offered a routine analytical method for the sensitive analysis of acrylamide contamination in food. For more than 20 years we analysed several thousands of samples and strongly contributed to the improvement of food production processes with our results.
