Approval for active substance alpha-Cypermethrin not extended

The authorisation for the use of the active substance alpha-Cypermethrin has expired. Residual stocks must be used up by 12/07/2022.

The EU Commission has withdrawn the approval for alpha-Cypermethrin (CAS no. 67375-30-8) with Regulation (EU) 2021/795 with effect from 06/07/2021. The member states in which the insecticide was used must now in turn withdraw the authorisations for crop protection preparations by 12/07/2021. Residual stocks must be used up by 12/07/2022. The maximum residue limits will presumably only be reduced to 0.05 mg/kg, which is the analytical limit of quantification today.
