We have summarized some short information of the food sector. In this article we provide brief information on current topics: optimization of official food control in Germany, max. levels for DON, dicofol and Rotterdam port ready for brexit.

The official food control in Germany is to be optimized after the recent cases. However, the density of controls is not to be increased, but controls are to be carried out on an ad hoc basis and more frequently in "susceptible" sectors. If this will be successful depends on the future number of inspectors.  No mention was made of increasing the number of inspectors.

Die amtliche Lebensmittelüberwachung soll in Deutschland nach den jüngsten Vorfällen optimiert werden. Die Kontrolldichte soll jedoch nicht erhöht werden, aber die Kontrollen anlassbezogen und in „anfälligen“ Branchen häufiger durchgeführt werden. Ob das gelingen wird, dürfte von der zukünftigen Anzahl an Kontrolleuren abhängen. Von einer Aufstockung wurde nichts erwähnt.

Reductions of the maximum levels for deoxynivalenol (DON) and introduction of maximum levels for T2 and hT2 toxins

The EFSA proposal is to lower most of the current maximum levels for DON as laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006. The inclusion of 3-acetyl DON, 15-acetyl DON and 3-DON glucoside was not included. The conservative guideline values for T2/hT2 are to be converted into maximum levels and partially lowered. We will keep you up to date!

Absenkungen der Höchstgehalte für Deoxynivalenol (DON) und Einführung für Höchstgehalte für T2 und hT2-Toxine werden vorgesehen.
Der EFSA Vorschlag sieht vor, die meisten aktuellen Höchstgehalte für DON laut Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1881/2006 abzusenken. Von der Einbeziehung von 3-Acetyl-DON, 15-Acetyl-DON und 3-DON-Glucosid wurde Abstand genommen. Die bisherigen Richtwerte für T2/hT2 sollen in Höchstwerte verwandelt und teilweise abgesenkt werden. Wir halten Sie auf dem Laufenden!

The banned pesticide active ingredient dicofol was included in the list of persistent organic pollutants (POP).

Der verbotene Pflanzenschutzmittelwirkstoff  Dicofol  wurde  in die Liste persistenter organische Schadstoffe (POP) aufgenommen.

The port of Rotterdam is "Ready for Brexit".

With “Get Ready for Brexit”, a chain-overlapping solution has been developed in the Dutch ports for the new customs formalities from January 1, 2021. Our laboratory AGROLAB Dr. Verwey has been integrated into the just-in-time supply chains as a "port laboratory" for decades and also considers itself well prepared

Mit „Get Ready for Brexit“ ist in den niederländischen Häfen eine kettenübergreifende Lösung für die neuen Zollformalitäten ab dem 1.1.2021 entwickelt worden. Unser Labor AGROLAB Dr. Verwey ist seit Jahrzehnten als „Hafenlabor“ in die just-in-time Lieferketten integriert und sieht sich ebenfalls gut vorbereitet.
