Hygiene

Due to the strong spread of the novel coronavirus "SARS-CoV-2", disinfectants are increasingly used.

Some contain quaternary ammonium compounds (QAV), such as DDAC (didecyldimethylammonium chloride) and BAC (benzalkonium chloride). QAV adhere well to the treated surfaces after application. They are difficult to rinse off with water and are easily absorbed by protein- and fat-rich foods that come into contact with the treated surfaces. We also check these components as part of our pesticide residue packages.

Therefore, when using disinfectants containing QAV, please make sure that they do not come into contact with laboratory samples. This can lead to positive results in pesticide analysis. We recommend the use of disposable gloves when taking samples for residue analysis.
