For the seventh time, the AGROLAB GROUP is among the 100 middle class companies in Germany with the highest growth. AGROLAB was even able to place 3rd in the “Service and Trade” sector. This is the result of the “TOP 100 middle class companies 2018” study, carried out by consulting firm Munich Strategy.

Dr Paul Wimmer, CEO of AGROLAB GmbH, is delighted with the accolade: “The AGROLAB concept is based upon the 3 pillars of work-sharing processes, consistent IT support and strict service orientation. This strategy makes a considerable contribution towards the success of the company. In addition to the stable economic climate, this offers us the opportunity to grow beyond measure. At some sites, we are currently expanding the laboratory space in order to provide the capacity required for the future. Further extensions are being planned across the whole of Europe. We are even starting to run low on space again in Bruckberg, which was extended in 2015. I am overjoyed to hear that our success strategy is bearing fruit and that, once again, we have been ranked among the TOP 100 middle class companies.”

Munich Strategy investigated over 3,500 German companies from across all sectors with an annual turnover of between 10 million and 1 billion euros. The “TOP 100” companies were determined on the basis of their long-term growth potential and profitability. The selection is based on the performance of the companies over the past five years. This is comprised, in equal parts, of the average sales growth and the average EBIT ratio of the companies.

“The TOP 100 is a pointer as to how the entire middle class needs to position itself in the future”, commends Dr Sebastian Theopold, founder of Munich Strategy and author of the study, which has now been carried out for the ninth year running. “They strive to be number one in their sector or segment, and consistently organise their structures and corporate culture towards their growth targets.”

The analysis shows that, at 11.5 percent, the average sales growth of the “TOP 100” is considerably higher than that of the total middle class (5.6 percent) and also higher than that of DAX-listed companies (6.1 percent). According to the study, the “TOP 100” companies boast particularly efficient structures and are able to react to changing market and competitive conditions with a greater deal of flexibility than DAX-listed companies. This forms the basis of their high EBIT ratio which, on average, amounted to 14.2 percent.

The results of the ranking were presented in DIE WELT on 9th March 2019.
