Systematic quality assurance from the farm to the market

Systematic quality assurance from the farm to the market

QS considers itself to be a high quality scheme with the goal of ensuring the continuous compliance with quality standards from the farm to the market.

Independent auditors monitor whether and how the requirements are met. The audits provide the basis for improvement measures and ensure transparency and traceability in the QS concept.

All participants are obliged to carry out regular tests of their products, which are carried out on the basis of defined parameters.

To ensure the comparability of the test results and fair assessments at all times, the QS- recognized laboratories are subject to regular, strict performance inspections in the form of inter-laboratory tests. In addition to this, the laboratories take part in regular analysts’ meetings, during which the joint assessment standards and methodical developments are discussed.

QS residue screening

QS residue screening

The purpose of QS residue screening for fresh fruit, vegetables and potatoes is the monitoring of products that are marketed by the QS-seal for compliance with the properties described in the guidelines, such as compliance with the residue limits of crop protection agents approved for the respective crop, as well as for heavy metal contamination, nitrate and sulphite.

In the case of a confirmed surpassing of the maximum residue limits or the proven use of unapproved active agents, an analysis of the root causes will be carried out, and in worst case scenario, the QS system will impose sanctions as appropriate.
