The approval of the active ingredient dimoxystrobin, which was used as a fungicide, will no longer be renewed.

The EU Commission announced the non-renewal of the authorisation of dimoxystrobin (CAS no. 149961-52-4) in Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1436 of 10.7.2023.

Dimoxystrobin is one of the strobilurin fungicides and was mainly used in wheat and oilseed rape crops.

Member states have to withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing dimoxystrobin by 31.1.2024 at the latest. The phase-out period already ends on 31.07.2024.

For most fruit and vegetable species, the permissible maximum residue levels (MRL) are set already to 0.01 mg/kg. Only for herbs and edible flowers the MRL is still 0.02 mg/kg and will probably also be lowered.
